Chimes of Bali®
This light and spirited wind chime is tuned to a musical scale called saih gender wayang from the South Pacific island of Bali, Indonesia. Originating in the playful music of the shadow puppet play, this scale comes alive with each movement of the wind.
Gamelan gender wayang is a style of music played on Bali. In 2003 UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) designated Wayang Kulit, a shadow puppet theater and the best known of the Indonesian wayang, as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in an effort to help preserve this aspect of Indonesian heritage.
Gamelan music of Bali is also revered and preserved through Gamelan Giri Mekar, a Balinese musical group in residence at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, and made possible through a loan of instruments by Woodstock Chimes founder Garry Kvistad. Bring the lively sounds of South Pacific arts and theater to your home or garden with our Chimes of Bali.
I have had my chimes of Bali for SO many years and still love the sound. Truly brings peace and joy when I listen to them. I’m always hoping for a little wind at my front door.❤️
I love my new Chimes of Bali! For me, it is the perfect blend of tones to create a beautiful, soft sound hanging in the backyard under my gazebo. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the charming effects of the breeze.
My mother had these, so as a child, I heard these from an early age. She bought me the same when I bought my house. I'll never be without them.
Love i when it's windy so I can really hear it outside as well as inside!! So glad I made thispurchade.
