String: 80lb Tan Chime String - 20 feet

$12.00
SKU: R-S80T

Description

This product includes 20 feet of tan 80 gauge braided Terylene string to be used with chime tops that measure 3.75, 5.25 or 7 inches in diameter. Please choose the string gauge appropriate to your chime top dimensions. Either black or tan colored string can be used.

Here's where you can find chime stringing instructions, along with a how-to video.

The string life depends on the amount of UV exposure and the strength of the winds where your chime is hanging. Under normal conditions, the string should last 7-8 years.

Purchase review 80lb Tan Chime String

The pdf to print out as a guide is not helpful at all, since we'll be re-using the top base we already have. the holes in that are completely different than when the template proposes. This will be a challenge, for sure. Repair services would be money well spent. However, you no longer offer those. Complete repair kits are always listed on your website, but never available. Also, not helpful. I will have to trust that the same string recommended for the Chimes of Bach work as well with (can withhold the weight) the chimes of Winchester with its MUCH longer chimes. We shall see.

My review IS NOT a positive review

After multiple and I mean multiple emails and phone calls leaving messages I received a phone call from the company and was advised by Susan to send a written request in.I did on 3/20/24, No response.... so finally after several weeks I decided to take a chance and order some string. I hated to but after many trips for various locations looking for string to repair my chimes with (chimes that I had ordered from this company and still have the original box the chimes came in) I did order from the company. String costing $!2 cost an additional $10 in postage... Unbelievable!!!!!! Very poor business practices. All I can say is THINK TWICE before ordering from this company.

Nice replacement

My chimes were 34 years old before any of the pipe string broke. I had replaced the center, but never the pipe string. It was pretty easy, and even though they actually look slightly shorter than before, they are strong again! I refinished the wood parts and used the original nails to restring it.
