Description

This handcrafted steel bell has deep resonance and plays beautifully in the wind.

With its bold tone and design, this handcrafted, wind-activated bell functions nicely as a welcome bell at any entrance to your home or garden. We tone our bells to unite two important ways the instrument vibrates. One is the sound of the bell itself, and the other is the hollow chamber inside the bell that acts like an organ pipe. The slots on the sides of the bell are the secret to this unique coupling. The result is a rich sound with much depth and beauty. This steel bell has been coated with a handsome, durable finish so that you can enjoy it for years. Hang your Heroic Windbell in a breezy spot and let it play in the wind.

Not “Heroic”. More like “Cowardly” for a chime.

Although we live in the Windy City, this chime will not ring. It’s clearly designed poorly for that function. It’s more like a pretty paperweight because that’s all it’s good for. If you’re thinking about buying this, take a pass. Too expensive for its total lack of function. It’s not “Heroic”. It’s “Cowardly “.

    Beautiful resonate sound

This is an amazing designed chime when rung has a beautiful tone that reminds me of Tibet.

Thank you, Mark! We're so glad you’re enjoying the deep, resonant tones of the Heroic Windbell. It’s wonderful to hear that its sound transports you to a place as peaceful and spiritual as Tibet. We appreciate your kind words and hope it continues to bring you moments of calm and reflection.

    Heavy, and very silent.

The heaviness of this bell is not a problem for me, but it may contribute to the fact that even in some heavier winds and breezes, this Heroic Windbell seldom makes a peep. I love the look of the windbell, but I have repeatedly moved it to different places outside my home, trying to find places with enough of a breeze to make this thing make itself known. All my other Woodstock Chimes are happily making their music, but this windbell still stays silent… even with the oversized “windcatcher” it comes with. So I love the look, but very disappointed in its’ continued silence.

    Dear Michael,

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. We’re glad to hear you love the look of the Heroic Windbell, but we’re truly sorry it hasn’t performed as you’d hoped. We understand how disappointing it must be to enjoy the appearance but miss out on the sound you were expecting.

The Heroic Windbell is designed to produce deep, resonant tones, but because of its weight, it does require stronger, more consistent winds than some of our lighter chimes. Placement can make a big difference, and we’d be happy to offer some tips or suggestions to help you get the most from it.

Please feel free to reach out to our customer care team — we’d love the opportunity to help you enjoy both the beauty and the sound of your windbell.

Thank you again for your candid review and for being a Woodstock Chimes customer.

    Quality Controls

The welding job needs to be better. When hung, the bell is not level. This is solely due to the welds and improper quality controls.
