Capiz are farmed in Indonesia and every bit is used. The pieces are carefully sorted, dried, sliced, shaped, sanded, and dyed. The thin, flat translucent pieces of capiz provide a luminous color.
In the 1500s, capiz was used as windowpanes in houses; now they are used in all sorts of home decorations, including lampshades, vases, and (of course) windchimes!
This product is handcrafted with pride by artisans in Bali, therefore sizes can vary.
I replaced my chimes in the corner of my large wrap-around porch with new medium sized Woodstock chimes. They are a beautiful bronze with deep, resounding musical notes, on the border of being too loud for conversation close by on a windy day. However, that has not been a problem since we don't usually gather to converse on a windy day because the the wind comes off the ocean , making the wind more problematic than the loud chimes . I have decided they are perfect since I enjoy hearing them inside as well . They are a beautiful background noise in any sort of breeze or wind. These chimes are beautifully constructed of quality materials and will last many years, I am certain!
For a location that is more confined, I would recommend the small sized chimes as they are so well made the sound is still beautiful but less distracting than the larger ones might be .
They are beautiful 😍 They are displayed on my kitchen island. They have a beachy boho vibe. ❤️
Excellent tone no other chimes compare I have a few and I love when the wind blows
