Our Barbershop Harmony Chime is tuned to the harmonies of a barbershop quartet, which includes a lead melody note, a high tenor harmony, a bass fundamental harmony, and a baritone note that completes the chord. Barbershop harmony is one of the few uniquely American-born musical styles. It takes its roots in the African American musical traditions of the late 19th century, particularly in New Orleans, and is thought to be a precursor of jazz. This classic-style chime plays notes that are pleasing to the ear and are sure to instill a sense of nostalgia for simpler times This wonderful capiz wind chime was handcrafted with pride by artisans in Bali. Capiz are farmed in Indonesia and every bit is used. The pieces are carefully sorted, dried, sliced, shaped, sanded, and dyed. The thin, flat translucent pieces of capiz provide a luminous color. In the 1500s, capiz were used as windowpanes in houses; now they are used in all sorts of home decorations, including lampshades, vases, and (of course) windchimes!
