Description
This handcrafted steel bell has Old World charm and plays beautifully in the wind. This handcrafted, wind-activated bell, with its bold tone and design, functions nicely as a welcome bell at any entrance to your home or garden. We tone our bells to unite two important ways the instrument vibrates. One is the sound of the bell itself, and the other is the hollow chamber inside the bell that acts like an organ pipe. The slots on the sides of the bell are the secret to this unique coupling. The result is a rich sound with much depth and beauty. This steel bell has been coated with a handsome, durable finish, so you can enjoy it for years to come. Hang your Heroic Windbell in a breezy spot and let it play in the wind.

    First Heroic Windbell

This was my first heroic Windbell. I was hoping for a deeper sound, closer to a church bell sound. I much prefer my other Corinthian chimes, but will enjoy these also.

We love the deep tone but it takes quite a bit of wind before it makes any sound. It's still a keeper.

    Heroic Windbell

This Windbell is lovely but it does not ring. The windsail keeps spinning.

    Dear Jill,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about the Heroic Windbell in Antique Silver. We're glad to hear you find it lovely, but we're sorry to learn that it isn't ringing as expected and that the windsail just spins. As it is a larger chime, it will take more of a 'breeze' to get it to ring. Having said that, maybe some slight modifications will help?

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention — the sound of our bells is an important part of their charm, and we'd be happy to help troubleshoot or suggest adjustments that might improve its performance. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly so we can provide you with further.

Thank you again for your honest review and for giving our windbell a place in your home!

    Beautiful!

The wind bell is gorgeous, and exactly as described on the site. I also have a set of the large and medium Gregorian chimes from Woodstock. In comparison, it seems this bell is a bit heavier, and takes a stronger wind to sound. That causes it to make some great harmonies with the other two that I have, while also saving the sound for slightly stronger gusts than the other two chimes. Overall, completely satisfied and so pleased!

    Hello SS,

Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying your new wind bell and that it lives up to your expectations. It's great to know how beautifully it complements your large and medium Gregorian chimes—what a harmonious trio! We especially love your observation about the bell's response to stronger gusts—it sounds like you've created a truly magical soundscape. Thank you again for your support and for being part of the Woodstock Chimes family!
