This chime is named for the stormy blue planet first observed through a telescope in 1846. Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. In Roman mythology, Neptune was the god of the sea, an apt name for a planet with the nickname "Blue Giant."
The chimes have a soothing, resonate sound. We very much enjoy them when we are on the back deck.
