Capiz Chime - Autumn Leaves
The colorful leaves shimmer and dance in the wind.
How to Display your Chime
Please note this chime will ship flat. Gently shape your chime by bending the metal "branches" out. If the capiz leaves do not move freely, gently loosen the metal clasp. Add your choice of jute rope or nylon cord to the top hole to hang. Enjoy the subtle beauty of this delicate chime.
How it's Made
Capiz are farmed in Indonesia and every bit is used. The pieces are carefully sorted, dried, sliced, shaped, sanded and dyed. The flat translucent pieces provide a luminous color.
In the 1500s, capiz were used as windowpanes in houses; now they are used in all sorts of home decorations, including lampshades, vases, and (of course) wind chimes!
This product is handcrafted with pride by artisans in Bali, therefore sizes, colors, and shapes can vary.
I have mine hanging indoors in front of a window - more like a mobile. It looks lovely with all of my other fall decor. I bought two others as gifts for fall birthdays.
